Description
- 3-cylinder Mid Performance 4-stroke engine
The dependable, durable and fuel efficient Mid Performance engine has been the foundation of snowmobiling’s 4-stroke revolution. The carbureted classic engine’s 3-cylinder design is silky smooth and very trail-friendly. - Direct-to-crankshaft clutching
Instead of using a gear reduction, the Mid Performance engine has the primary clutch directly attached to the crankshaft. It allows the engine to be mounted deeper in the chassis to deliver a lower center of gravity, further improving the sled’s cornering stability. The YVXC primary spins at 8500 RPM to transfer power from the engine to the secondary and on to the track. - 15 x 144 x 1.25-inch Camoplast® Rip Saw™ track
The Camoplast® Rip Saw™ track is a standard feature on the RS Venture. It has been widely acclaimed in the industry as the best all around OEM track for acceleration, cornering bite and everyday trail usage. The Rip Saw™ track is the result of a collaborative effort between Yamaha and Camoplast®. - Rear-exiting exhaust
The exhaust is routed out the back of the sled in order to optimize and maximize airflow through the engine. The tuned system is specifically engineered to produce the Mid Performance engine’s broad powerband and also to help keep the sled in balance. - Lightweight hydraulic brake system
The lightweight 4-piston brake system delivers solid stopping power without fading, even in high-use applications. It also incorporates a new, lightweight, single-finned, self-cooling brake disc. - Lightweight forged pistons
The forged pistons used in the Mid Performance engine are engineered for light weight and still allow high compression rates of 11.3:1 on 87 Octane gas.

Handling
- Ultra-rigid Deltabox™ chassis
The Deltabox chassis is designed specifically to house the Mid Performance engine. It supports the engine and utilizes it in forming one of the most rigid chassis on the market. The more rigid the chassis, the more consistent the sled will handle. - Second generation front suspension geometry
The geometry of the second generation front suspension features short spindles and long A-arms. The suspension was engineered to deliver excellent cornering stability and consistent turning effort throughout its travel stroke. It delivers 9 inches of vertical travel and sets the skis at 42 inches. Steering is consistent, because the spindle caster is maintained at a constant 23 degrees. - 36mm KYB® aluminum HPG front shocks
The 36mm KYB High Pressure Gas (HPG) shocks on the RS Venture’s second generation front suspension geometry deliver consistent performance with excellent fade resistance. - CF diecast construction
Yamaha’s Controlled Flow casting technique is used for many of the structural pieces on the chassis. The CF process draws the molten metal into the mold under a vacuum, reducing the formation of air bubbles in the material. As a result, pieces can be made much thinner and still deliver the strength characteristics of a conventionally cast, thicker piece. - Magnesium valve, crankcase and oil pump covers
Yamaha incorporated liberal usage of ultra-lightweight magnesium material wherever possible to minimize weight on engine componentry. The use of magnesium is widespread on all Genesis-class engines. - Saddleless plastic skis
The saddleless plastic ski offers low unsprung weight and its aggressive keel design provides strong bite to help the RS Venture corner.
Comfort
- ProComfort® rear suspension with KYB® HPG shocks
The ProComfort rear suspension is easily adjustable for one or two riders. It uses a simple flip lever to set the torsion spring’s rate. A pair of 36mm KYB High Pressure Gas shocks delivers consistent, smooth performance. It operates like the ProActive in all other aspects of suspension tuning, including the tri-cam preload adjuster and adjustable control rod. - Removable passenger seat
The seat on the RS Venture is very roomy to accommodate two riders in full gear. When solo riding is the order of the day, the passenger section can be removed without tools for added cargo space. Since the RS Venture uses a long 144-inch track, both driver and passenger areas are longer than competitive models for extra comfort. - New wheels with removable bearings
New replaceable bearing wheels makes maintenance easy and cheap, while the 6 spoke design adds to the visual appeal of the already super cool looking RS Venture. This new design will be implemented on the rear large wheels only. - Cargo pad
Instead of a caged rack, the RS Venture offers a small, lightweight cargo pad for carrying a variety of equipment on the back of the sled. Riders need simply to cinch their gear down with a strap to keep it secure. Additional cargo space is available, thanks to the removable passenger seat design. - Standard electric start
Yamaha’s electric starter system allows consumers to fire up their RS Venture with the turn of a key. There is no pulling on a nylon cord to get this high-tech engine growling! Electric start is a standard feature on all of Yamaha’s 4-stroke machines. - LCD gauge
The digital gauge on the RS Venture allows the driver to see engine RPM and track speed data at a glance. The gauge also displays heater settings, fuel level, engine temperature and odometer. Yamaha digital gauges have become a benchmark in the industry. The digital readout has been copied by the competition almost across the board. - Tall windshield
The RS Venture is all about comfort and style, so the windshield is extra large to protect both driver and passenger from the elements.
